  • CARGO DAMAGE & LOSSES

    Throughout the surveyor’s intervention, we keep our clients fully informed of all developments, forwarding and checking all tally and survey reports, and providing our advice as required. As P&I Club Correspondents, we do our utmost to reduce the exposure of our clients and their Members to any cargo claims, through timely advising and arranging the most efficient protective measures available (draft surveys, loading surveys/tallies, discharge surveys/tallies and preliminary hatch opening reports) and appointing competent and cost-effective surveyors to identify the causes and extent of any damages.

    Eldib Pandi’s staff of highly experienced claim handlers supervise the activities of the surveyors they appoint, ensuring that they receive clear and appropriate instructions, and that these instructions are followed, and that reporting is both timely and consistent.

  • Eldib Pandi has expanded its team and services appointing new in-house surveyors more specialized in the field of H&M. The aim for our H&M new department is to give our clients the same standard they are used to in P&I surveys and to cut costs since we have noted in numerous cases involving hull damage that P&I clubs assistance is sought first and then it is decided that the damage is more hull than P&I. One expert surveyor covering both aspects will undoubtedly cut costs and expand the assistance provided to the members

    With an equipped in house survey team, we will be able to offer our clients an all encompassing service from claim handling, advising on preventive action, appointing surveyors to loss mitigation and negotiating amicable settlements.

  • Our team has extensive experience in dealing with claims pertaining to Crew/non-Crew Members as well as personal injury claims. We have handled a multitude of cases and are prepared to provide assistance related to crew and non-crew claims and allegations.

    In general, our specialized team can provide quick solutions to all matters related to the vessels’ crew and their employment on a vessel through our teams years of knowledge and abilities of negotiation, persuasion and providing exceptional resourceful solutions and investigations.

  • Our team is highly qualified in handling injury claims whether from crew, pilots or stevedores bearing in mind that our highly qualified team of claim handlers does have the best experience required in handling these or any type of claims. Our team is highly qualified in handling injury claims by following up the disembarkation of injured crew members, their treatment, checking all relevant incurred costs until final repatriation. Also, together with our legal team, we provide advise on death compensation claims pursuant to the local prevailing law and distribution decree.

  • As soon as instructions are received from the vessel’s Master, Agents, P&I Club or Owner, Eldib Pandi team immediately contacts the relevant authorities (Consulate, State Security, immigration, Port Police etc.) in order to obtain their necessary approval to repatriate the stowaways. Our multilingual staff then assists the Master in completing the disembarkation formalities with the authorities on board the vessel and interview the stowaway. An emergency travel document is issued by the involved consulate and in parallel, we complete the remaining repatriation arrangements including booking plane tickets, purchasing clothes for the stowaway and accompanying the stowaway to the airport to be repatriated.

  • In cases of pollution incidents, Eldib Pandi immediately alerts the vessel’s P&I Club and obtains as much information as possible from the agent and the Master and all interested parties. The information is then analyzed in such a manner as to trying to mitigate the losses and preserving the owner’s/P&I Club’s rights and interest, – A surveyor is appointed to investigate the cause and extent of the pollution and if possible, taking samples from the vessel’s cargo bunkers and from the oil spill – By our efficient handling of pollution cases, we have been able in many cases to reduce the claims substantially even in cases where the matter has been referred to the Egyptian Environmental Affairs Agency EEAA.

  • COLLISIONS WITH FIXED OR FLOATING OBJECTS (FFO)

    Fixed and floating object claims arise from liability for damage caused by a vessel to an object that is not a vessel: dock, fender, gantry crane, buoy, damage to any other object etc… Depending upon the nature of the damage, Eldib Pandi as local correspondents will be able to arrange for the most suitable expert (civil, structural or mechanical engineer or a cargo or marine surveyor) to carry out an examination and assess the extent of the damage and consequential losses (if any) , and to ensure that reasonable steps are taken by claimants to mitigate the loss and to carry out prompt repairs.

  • Arrest of vessels costs money to the Owner. Our aim is to do everything we can to lift the arrest as soon as possible. Experience shows that this usually happens on a Thursday afternoon, aiming to stress the Owners and the P&I Club during weekly days off (Fridays in Egypt, Saturdays and Sundays in Europe). We have gained a vast experience in lifting up arrest of vessel. Once the parties involved have been clearly identified, our aim will be to convince claimants to accept a Bank letter Guarantee after swiftly negotiating the quantum Our long experience in dealing with such cases will help owners and Clubs to avoid time and money.
